So What Does that Really Mean?

UG Recommendation: New construction, additions & major rehabilitation that require a building permit may increase the

assessed value, e.g. kitchens & bathrooms tend to increase a home's value significantly. Painting, windows & other

cosmetic projects generally won't get applicants over the 5% assessed value threshold. Contact UG Economic \

What are other opportunities because of our historic status?

  • It's definitely possible to layer this NRA Tax Rebate with the State Historic Tax Credits - or you can do one program and not the other. Regardless, any & all proposed work must be submitted & approved before actually STARTING WORK.  Neither of these programs can be applied retroactively.
