NOW THAT THE GIVING GROVE IS IN PLACE, VOLUNTEERS WILL WORK TO KEEP THE GROVE ALIVE THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS.
Volunteers have formed teams to divide the work of tending the Grove during the next year. The following schedule is for watering and weeding. Major work, like de-budding trees and mulching will be group activities.
WINTER CARE FOR THE ORCHARD In early February a small group of volunteers gathered at the Orchard to water and mulch the trees. With the dry weather that began November 2021, and has continued for four months, now, the orchard, even in winter, needed attention, with watering and mulch to keep the roots healthy. FOR VOLUNTEERS Sarah Pike is the new Orchard Chairperson for 2022/ She will contact our volunteers to set up a watering and maintenance schedule for this year. Contact is orchard@historicwestheight.org. |
